Since the company’s foundation, i2S has been a trusted partner, supporting all the activities involved in its operation.
Currently, the company’s whole business corresponds to Portuguese non-life contracts.
Evolution towards an integrated portal
Caravela started its activity in 1996, under the name Euresap – Euresa Portugal, Companhia de Seguros, S.A. From the very first moment, i2S was Caravela’s partner, providing software solutions and services for the management of the company.
The i2S supported the organisation’s different structural transformations. In 2011, to allow Açoreana to adjust to new times so as to ensure a qualitative and competitive evolution of its management, i2S made an upgrade to the installed solution. Specifically, this upgrade equipped the company with new features able to ensure that evolution, and has been a crucial vehicle for the company’s adaptation to the new reality.
During the upgrade process, i2S applications, formerly built in “text” format, evolved into a functional platform integrating the different i2S solution’s applications in a portal environment, and including different modules:
- Motor claims;
- Complaints management;
- Assets management;
- Document management.
The Portal module allows gaining a 360-degree client view, simple and intuitive, contributing to meet business demands more effectively.
Motor claims management, from the assisted creation to the differentiated management of material and bodily damages, became more simple, intuitive and started to integrate workflow and document management (photos, reports, documents, e-mails) processes .
The document management module provided the company with all functionalities required for the handling, electronic archiving, circulation and control of digitised documents, sourced from third parties or from the i2S solution. With document dematerialisation, the access to the information from the i2S solution to any place in the company was effectively improved.
The company’s administrative and financial management became more integrated with the technical applications in the Portal module, which brought advantages such as analysing entries in the accounts, performing information drill-down and retrieving the technical document to view the corresponding data.
The portal solution includes benefits affecting the different modules: graphical and intuitive interface, task automation, business process monitoring and handling and distribution of tasks organised by hierarchical levels of competence. These new features and resources allowed the company to generate productivity gains, to improve its management measures, to promote the share of information between its several departments, to monitor business processes and to improve client service.
