i2S User Group´18 – Looking Forward

i2S being i2S.

Lisbon, 11 October 2018. The Mar da Palha auditorium in Oceanário de Lisboa, hosted, with full house, the i2S User Group’18.

It was a day of complete immersion in the current and future scenarios of the insurance industry, where the dominant theme was agility in the relationship between insurers and their clients. Consumers are increasingly demanding, in particular regarding services and interaction – at any time and using a multitude of channels and media. The millennial generation represents an increasingly higher quota of consumers. Connected and agile. It was in this context that i2S attempted to provide answers to the technological and business challenges faced by the insurance industry.

Gastão Taveira, i2S CEO, gave the kick-off, welcoming the 120 participants coming from Portugal, Spain, Angola, Cape Verde and the United Kingdom.

Nicolas Michellod, senior analyst from Celent, opened the morning sessions by presenting the agility concept, as well as different ways for insurers to become (more) agile, both regarding business and technology. Next, Marco Perestrelo, i2S CTO, introduced i2S proposal of, based on the solutions’ modularisation, making insurers more agile. The last session in the morning was reserved for Entelgy, i2S partner for the Spanish market. Miguel Ángel Barrio, Head of Entelgy Digital, addressed the audience giving several examples of agility in the development of new insurance products, based on a dynamic and close interaction with the client.

The morning ended with a visit to the demonstration area, where the participants could get to know and try three i2S solutions (Integration hub, i2S Analytics and i2S Channels) and a product from Entelgy, developed in partnership with i2S (Lifebox). Also in that space, i2S’ Research area exhibited some innovation projects in which i2S is involved and creating value.

After lunch, and following a guided tour to the permanent exhibition of Oceanário de Lisboa, Luis Cervantes, CEO of Caravela Seguros, resumed the sessions. The first session in the afternoon was designed to present Caravela Seguros’ approach to digital operations, a path in which i2S is a crucial partner. Teresa Rosas, Head of IT of Fidelidade, shared with the audience a presentation where she explained the insurer’s IT department internal reorganisation (organisation, process and physical), having the agile methodology as base.

The i2S User Group´18 ended with a debate moderated by Nuno Antunes (Milford partner), being the panel discussion composed of Teresa Rosas, Luis Cervantes, Gastão Taveira and Miguel Proença (Accenture). During the debate, with the title “How will the insurers of the future look like?”, the panel attempted to provide answers not only regarding the insurers of the future but also on what will be i2S’ role in that context.

The i2S User Group’18 ended, officially, with the final notes of Gastão Taveira: “We are living in a period of great transformation and quick innovation. i2S continues committed to providing a service of excellence to its national and international clients. We know the future we want to build and leverage. However, it is also important to know how to tread a common path with our clients, being constantly aware of both market trends and demands and client specific needs”.

We are expecting you in 2019. We will do more and better!

Looking forward to seeing you!
